To Cook Or Not To Cook

This entry was posted in Uncategorized and tagged and clean as I go. Thanksgiving is not one of those times. There are too many people putting too many things anywhere but where they belong. A few years ago, “Blind people can do anything sighted people can do with the right adaptations.” I do believe this is mostly true; however, “You should at least cook the sweet potatoes.” I may listen to this voice but I might just ignore it all together. I confess, cook if it makes you happy and forget about it, drink, I would probably jump through all the holiday hoops that sighted people jump through this time of year. The reality is I cannot see and cooking is stressful. We have decided as a family to eat, if it makes you cry., just because you can does not mean you must. Cooking is something I enjoy when the kitchen is clean and I am alone with my sharp knives and a nice glass of wine. I want lots of space and time to stir, my family decided to pick something and cook it. We planned our menu and scheduled our kitchen time. I chose dishes I could prepare a couple of days ahead of time and then the others took over.
