What’s Your Temperature?
You’ve no doubt heard the announcements everywhere you turn. Apple has new gadgets, and so do Samsung, Sony, Microsoft, and too many others to name. For me, there are several things that make a gadget great, and I’ve recently found one I’m excited to share. It’s versatile, economically priced, not terribly techie, and usable with or without sight. It even speaks in six languages. The product is the HealthSmart DigiScan Instant Read Infrared Talking Forehead and Ear Thermometer for Babies, Children and Adults.
I found this thermometer because I was searching for something that would allow me to monitor my skin temperature. You can find out more about this, and the method I am using to increase circulation in my hands and feet, by listening to Podcast 51.
I have a standard oral thermometer, but it does not consistently monitor skin temperature, and takes nearly a minute. This new thermometer will give me the temperature in either ear and anywhere on my skin within two seconds.
This is ideal for taking the temperature of children, who are not always patient about being still. If you need to take your temperature regularly, you’ll appreciate the time you will save.
Some functions, such as date setting, are not possible without sight. Before you decide to buy, you can learn more by reading the manual from the manufacturer’s website, or listening to an audio demo I’ve done on the thermometer. This is one gadget I’ll surely be keeping around for a while. If you want to see some of the other healthful and helpful items we have found, come check out our Favorite Product Picks Page.
