Best Therapeutic Hot And Cold Packs
One of my preoccupations these days is my knees. I have been going to physical therapy to strengthen them because they have become unstable. I decided to be proactive and walk my talk. That means I need to take care of my knees so they will continue to take care of me.
I have been using this opportunity to ask the physical therapist a million questions. I noticed the cold packs that they wrapped my knees in at the end of the sessions were so comfortable. The hot packs at the beginning were the same way. It turns out that they are the same packs. The therapist recommended that I get two of them and dedicate one to hot and one to cold. She said that using the same pack for both degrades them faster. I got her to give me the brand and link so I could order them.
They are Elasto Gel Therapeutic packs, and come in all sizes and shapes. They have them for feet, knees, back, neck, and head. The ones I got are long rectangles that wrap around my knees and stay there securely with the use of the attached Velcro straps. My husband drapes one across his neck. I heated it for about 3 minutes in the microwave, rearranging it half way through. It holds heat for a long time. The other pack I threw in the freezer and it stays cold for a good amount of time as well.
It is always a good idea to keep cold packs in the freezer at all times because you never know when you will need them. I keep the hot pack near the microwave so it is also handy. I thought you might like to know my discovery. I have the cold one draped across both knees as I write this.
