Accessible Fitness, more choices for more people

Fitness has always been a concern with regard to both mental and physical health regardless of age, gender, or any other variables that make each one of us unique. And for those in the blind community, fitness is every bit as much—if not more—important.

Exercise for the visually impaired is something that should be incorporated into a weekly, if not daily, routine for a variety of reasons that are both similar and different from people within the sighted community. For those with total loss of sight as well as for those who are low sighted, a lack of regular exercise can bring on a host of other issues, including weight gain, sluggishness, and perhaps worst of all for many, insomnia or a circadian rhythm that has been thrown completely off track.

A quality workout done at the right time of day and at the right pace to meet your unique physical and mental needs is just what the doctor may have forgotten to order. For many blind people, fitness has been a challenge: without someone to guide you and without the ability to drive yourself to the gym, it becomes obvious why so many visually impaired individuals give up—but with the BlindAlive line of Fitness Workouts for blind people, you’ll never have to depend on anyone else again.

Yoga and Strength Training with wieghts for blind people along with a variety of other cardiovascular exercises help our bodies stay toned, help us gain muscle mass and lose weight, but most of all, can help lead a blind person away from a sense of helplessness.

Are you ready to sweat? Come get healthy and leave all your notions of not being able to get fit due to your visual impairment behind with BlindAlive!

The Sculpting with Weights 1 workout is wonderfully-described and invigorating! The narrator is unfailingly encouraging when my body is tiring. When I complete the workout, I feel a pleasant sense of accomplishment! Thank you, BlindAlive, for offering our community these excellent workouts!

I have always wanted to be physically fit, but I was always limited to the things I could do due to my blindness. This is why over the yeears, my treadmill became my favorite method of exercising. As I got older, I felt the need to do more than just the treadmill. I wanted something that would include my entire body in it’s workout. This is where Blind Alive came in. I heard about you and the wonderful work you’re doing via Blind Bargains audio podcast. I immediately invested in your total package of easy workouts and level 1 workouts of cardio and weight lifting. These were my best investments of 2015!!! I went from exercising 3 to 5 times a week; to 5 to 6 times a week. I’m feeling much better. I’ve lost over 20 pounds. I am constantly conscious of my posture; even on the mall, I find myself holding my stomach in while walking. Now, I have a good reason to keep fit, not only in the summer, but also in the winter. I cannot say thank you enough! Blind Alive should be an integral part of every blind person’s life; because, your well thought out and superbly delivered programs make all of us come alive!!!

A personal touch is what John Maxwell calls : “Going the extra mile.” Too many people run their businesses but are not directly involved. I loved the personal call I received from Mel and I valued the time we spent on the call. It is refreshing to see when people care about the end result which is helping others. I am on board!!!!!

I received my Pilates ring in good condition, and like it a lot better than the one I purchased from Amazon. On this ring, the foam rollers are much more comfortable than the one I bought from Amazon. It was worth the money.

Having each workout explained so I don’t have to play twister to keep my eyes on the tv to make sure I am doing things right has made my workout much more enjoyable.
